Photography by Richard ValenciaThis autumn sees the highly anticipated return of an ever more stylish Goldsmiths’ Fair, the UK’s leading luxury viewing and buying exhibition. Original precious metal jewellery and contemporary silver from 126 of the most exciting established and emerging gold and silver designer-makers will be on display from 26 September at the magnificent Goldsmiths' Hall, close to St Paul’s Cathedral.

As well as the expansive range of jewellery and precious objets on display, the 35th edition of the Fair will feature special exhibitions including a cutting-edge video installation, a programme of design talks and tours, specially curated showcases from Joanna Hardy and Christina Jansen and the prestigious Best New Design Awards.

Precious Mysteries, the theme of this year’s Fair, alludes to the alchemy of traditional skills and innovative design that is the hallmark of Goldsmiths’ Fair. Celebrated filmmaker Ujin Lin, who has previously made video campaigns for brands such as Prada, Phillip Lim and Zara has created this year's video installation for Goldsmiths' Fair, entitled 'Precious Mysteries'.

Leading jewellers showing at the Fair include Shaun Leane, who built an international reputation collaborating with Alexander McQueen; Jacqueline Cullen, whose faceted Whitby Jet work inlaid with shimmering diamonds dramatically juxtaposes light and dark; and Nina Bukvic, who uses the finest gold wire and chain to create ethereal pieces that exude playful sophistication.

Returning to the Fair after a break, Japanese maker Yusuke Yamamoto shows his signature textural vessels crafted by his virtuoso hammering. Inspired by building sites, Ane Christensen presents elegant Scandi-chic pieces that push the boundaries of functionality and form.

Once again outstanding new talent is making a debut at the Fair. The Graduate Bursary Scheme provides 10 rising stars with a launch pad by means of a £1,500 grant and customised mentoring delivered by the Goldsmiths’ Centre. For these talented graduates, Goldsmiths’ Fair is a high profile platform to introduce their work to international collectors and the jewellery-loving public.

Talks Programme

A comprehensive programme of talks will also runs throughout the Fair with informative Breakfast Talks hosted by industry specialists and experts, including Dr Julia Farley, Curator of British & European Iron Age Collection, The British Museum; Maria Doulton, Editor-in-Chief, The Jewellery Editor; and Catrin Jones, Curator of Decorative Arts, The Holburne Museum.
