Objects - James DougallThe acclaimed silversmith James Dougall is soon to be exhibiting his newest work in a Clerkenwell gallery alongside pieces from renowned designers, Nick and Sarah Allen. In what will be one of the stand out gallery shows this autumn, lovers of good design and fine craftsmanship should head for The Gallery on St Johns Square, Clerkenwell to take advantage of a rare opportunity to see exceptional pieces by these three respected designers, whose work is found in some of the world’s most fabulous homes.

The groundbreaking show ‘Objects’ is the collective brainchild of internationally renowned husband and wife design duo Nick and Sarah Allen and the multi-award winning silversmith James Dougall, to present an inspirational selection of objects for interiors.

James' approach to designing for silver is based on an exploration of shape and form, combined with function in an attempt to find new ways of addressing how the medium is perceived in a rapidly changing world.

The types of object he makes are diverse, often incorporating other materials and his recent work re-evaluates shagreen, sharkskin, glass and marble for both their durability and decorative merits in a way which enhances traditional skills. His work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited internationally, many times at Goldsmiths Hall and recently at the Victoria and Albert museum.

The highly creative output of the three designers on display will include significant pieces of furniture, glass, ceramics, metal ware and jewellery including collaborative new work created especially for this definitive selling exhibition.
