Continuing its support to the jewellery industry,  Holts Academy of Jewellery is launching 'The Scheme', a programme dedicated to providing flexible workspace to jewellers.

This brand new system for affordable pay-as-you go bench space and drop-in CAD facilities for jewellers is being launched in July 2011.
For micro jewellery businesses, the idea of being committed to a workshop unit for a monthly fee can often be daunting. By becoming a member of The Scheme, businesses and start ups will be able to access Petersham House workshops and CAD facilities, Holts Academy’s brand new premises. Thus, members will be able to produce work in Hatton Garden, the most desirable address for London based jewellers. Not only will the membership give access to state-of-the-art facilities, but participants will also benefit from the surrounding wealth of local suppliers and manufacturers.

The Scheme has been conceived by the Holts Academy Director Lee Lucas in order to bridge the gap between studying to be a jeweller and actually becoming one. More than just accessing bench space, The Scheme aims to unite graduates with professionals of the trade under a network umbrella.

For an annual membership fee of £50 and monthly subscriptions starting for as little as £20, members will be able to decide when, how often and for how long they need to be using the facilities. Furthermore, when joining The Scheme, each member will receive vouchers worth £500 to spend with local suppliers and manufacturers, as well as many more benefits connected to the Academy such as discounts for courses, trouble shooting sessions and access to a series of events.
